Executive Committee

General Committee: SOF has a general committee comprising different expatriate and experienced personalities involved in different social activities and desired to play their own role for the development of women and children. This general committee sits once in a year for review of all organization and project activities and its progress, providing of feedback and suggestions and approval of all endeavors, future plan with financial transaction. This is a democratic decision-making body of the SOF.

Executive Committee: This is a committee comprised by 7 members elected person from the general committee that represents also the general committee. The Executive committee is responsible to review and approve all type of project funding support from donor agency, budget approval, policy approval, staff recruitment and other task stated in the SOF byelaws. Further, the executive director (ED) of the SOF plays the role of member secretary of the executive committee as well as chief executive officer (CEO) of the SOF along with representing the executive committee.

Gitasree Gosh is currently working as a chairman at Shobujer Ovijan Foundation. She has professional experience in program management, training, PRA, research, advocacy, communication and documentation, reporting and social mobilization, community participation etc. She has expertise in the areas of Water and Sanitation program, gender and development, reproductive health rights, menstrual hygiene management, micro credit management, anti-trafficking campaign, disable and ethnic minorities’ rights.

Magdalin Das

Vice Chairman
Magdalin Das completed her B.Sc. (Honours) and M.Sc. in Zoology from the University of Dhaka, both with first-class results, and later earned her B.Ed. from Dhaka Teachers’ Training College. She started her career in 1995 as an Assistant Teacher and is currently serving as a Senior Biology Teacher at Viqarunnisa Noon School and College, with over 25 years of teaching experience. She has strong expertise in classroom facilitation, student mentoring, and academic leadership. Magdalin is passionate about guiding students towards academic excellence and fostering a love for science.

Mahmud Begum is the Founder Executive Director of Shobujer Ovijan Foundation. She has expertise in the area of garments workers’ rights, Occupational health & safety, Social audit, reproductive health, Women empowerment, Gender and equality development, Water, Sanitation & hygiene Promotion, Early Childhood Development, Menstrual hygiene and management training, Child Rights, Right to Information (RTI), Human Rights and Governess. She had leadership experience for more than 25 years.

Samia Ahmed is a seasoned development professional with over 17 years of experience in humanitarian response, gender-based violence, policy advocacy, and program design. She has worked with leading international organizations including Save the Children, UNICEF, WaterAid, Chevron, World Vision, Concern Worldwide, and ActionAid, both in Bangladesh and abroad. Samia has led major advocacy campaigns on women’s and children’s rights, education, climate change, and gender-responsive budgeting. With dual master’s degrees in Development Studies (BRAC University) and Economics (University of Dhaka), she brings strong expertise in program monitoring, evaluation, and rights-based emergency response. Her leadership has influenced key national policies, including the Anti-Domestic Violence Act and initiatives to ensure safe school environments, child protection, and women’s empowerment.

Sabiha Sultana has been working with development sector about twelve years and performing in management position through rights-based approach. During the tenure profession, shehas been overseeing the execution of program deliverables, lead project planning, budgeting, action plans and monitoring processes especially on gender focused program. She received several international trainings focused on gender and equality. She graduated on Social Work.
